Examples of METEOR choices

Here are some examples (among many !) of METEOR choices for the 5 METEOR to be chosen @Nice in the  METEOR book.

Recall that MAUCA METEOR are organized in 6 main categories :

  • 1 Planetology
  • 2 Stellar and Galactic Physics
  • 3 Extragalactics/Cosmology/Relativity
  • 4 Signal-Image Processing/Numerical methods
  • 5 Astronomical Optics and Instrumentation
  • 6 Space-Industry
  • Example 1 : 2 METEOR in Stellar Physics, 2 in Signal Processing and 1 in Astronomical Optics.

This is not OK for a Research track (as in the first 5 categories only 3 are covered) and not OK for a Space-Industry track (category 5 and 6 missing). This kind of combination has too narrow scope.

  • Example 2 : 2 METEOR in Planetology, 1 in Stellar Physics, 1 in Signal Processing and 1 in Astronomical Optics.

This is OK for a Research track (as in the first 5 categories, 4 are covered). This is not a choice corresponding to a Space-Industry track as category 6 is missing (as well as one METEOR among  JUICEMICROSCOPE  and BEPI COLOMBO).

  • Example 3 : 1 METEOR in Planetology : JUICE, 1 in Signal Processing, 1 in Astronomical Optics, 2 METEOR in Space-Industry.
  • This is not OK for a Research track (as in the first 5 categories only 3 are covered). This is OK for a Space-Industry track.
  • Example 4 : 1 METEOR in stellar Physics, 1 METEOR in Extragalactics : MICROSCOPE, 1 in Signal Processing, 1 in Astronomical Optics, 1 METEOR in Space-Industry.

This is both OK for a Research track (as in the first 5 categories, 4 are covered) and for a Space-Industry track (categories 4, 5 and 6 are covered, plus the space mission MICROSCOPE).
